We have said over and over that we are some of the luckiest people on earth because of the great relationships we have with our amazing clients. What better way to show it, not just say it, than shine the spotlight on our clients?!

For our first client spotlight, I’d like to introduce you to the Lenoir Hospital Foundation in Kinston, NC!

The Foundation

The Lenoir Hospital Foundation was established more than thirty years ago to enhance patient care through private donations. The donations benefit UNC Lenoir by upgrading medical technology & equipment, supporting community health initiatives, and funding capital improvements. The Foundation recently purchased the second Tru-D SMART UVC disinfecting light and also helped purchase a Mako Orthopedic Robot.

The Foundation & Coastal Connections Marketing

We have worked with the Foundation since our founding in 2002, and it has been so much fun to grow with them.  Because the Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) charitable organization, we get to work with them on all kinds of fundraising opportunities such as an annual golf tournament, an annual employee campaign (when employees are incentivized with branded products to give at different levels), and other various events.

Dirk Griffith, the current director, retires April 9th after 10 years with the Foundation, so we twisted his arm into letting Caroline interview him (with a promotional products slant, of course) before he leaves his post.

Caroline: What is your favorite memory from your 10 years as the Lenoir Hospital Foundation Director?

Dirk: Emceeing and watching the Jeanne Robertson performance at Lenoir Community College, a fundraiser for building the Cath Lab.

(Note from Caroline: YouTube Jeanne now! She’s a hoot!)

Caroline: What is your most-used/favorite promotional product, and what is the logo/organization on it? Whether it’s a product you purchased from us or not!

Dirk: The insulated freezer bag with built-in cells. It’s collapsible for ease of fitting in the freezer, and it stays frozen for a long time, keeping items cold for a 6-hr. road trip.  I just put it back in my freezer this morning to use this weekend!  We ordered these as a giveaway for the campaign, from CCM of course, so the logo is the Foundation logo.  (Note from Caroline: Here is the link to check them out!)

Caroline: What stands out as being the most popular promotional product you used during your role as director and how did you use it?  (Such as a specific umbrella during the employee campaign.)  Is there something people just can’t stop talking about?

Dirk: Employees are always excited about apparel options!  They love the latest t-shirts and pull-overs that we did for the employee campaign.  (Note from Caroline: Here are links to the t-shirts and pull-overs!  They are a super-soft tri-blend in men’s and women’s styles.)

Caroline: Last, but certainly not least, what are you looking forward to most in retirement?

Dirk: I look forward to a little traveling and getting my yard looking the best it can. Time to get on that “honey-do” list too!

Making Connections That Last

It’s kind and fun people like Dirk that make our jobs so fulfilling!  We pour our efforts into projects because we sincerely want our clients to succeed. Being a small part of that success is just icing on the cake!

The incoming director, Constance Hengel, is an employee of UNC Lenoir and also a long-time friend of CCM! We have worked with her on projects for the Minges Wellness Center and various community relations events. We are so excited to work with her in her role as the Lenoir Hospital Foundation Director!
